  1. There before the grace of God go I that I am an Ashkenazi Jew born in America, having parents and grandparents also born in America, and Great Grandparents who emigrated here in the 19th century to escape the pogroms who lived long lives with freedom to work and pray as they wished.

  2. As we approach Holocaust Memorial Day 2020, on the 75th anniversary of the liberation; i think of this lady, who’s name and fate remain unknown. She was someone’s Mother, Grandmother, Sister or Daughter; which makes her a very special person.
She might have been a gifted artist or musician, or a brilliant scientist, capable of saving millions of lives through her research.
She might have had a great sense of humour, or capable of great acts of kindness to others.
All we know is that she was a Jewish lady, who had great poise and dignity, despite her situation; and on Holocaust Memorial Day I will be thinking of her.
    She will not be forgotten.
