Amazon Denies It's In Talks To Acquire Net-a-Porter

This article is more than 9 years old.

Amazon.com  denied that it is in acquisition talks for Net-a-Porter, contradicting earlier reports that it was interested in purchasing the London-based luxury web retailer for as much as 2 billion euros, or about $2.19 billion.

A report that the two companies were discussing an acquisition first appeared Thursday in Women's Wear Daily, which noted that talks had been on-going but that a deal was far from certain. Later FORBES published a similar report, citing a person familiar with the situation.

"We are not in talks to acquire Net-a-Porter," an Amazon spokesperson said Friday.
