Back in October 2012, Microsoft launched the Surface -- a large tablet computer with a stylus and a cover that doubles as a keyboard. If you followed Apple's event Wednesday, that description likely sounds familiar, as you could use the exact same words to describe the iPad Pro.
What's amazing, however, is that someone predicted the iPad Pro three years ago.
Joel Watson, author of webcomic Hijinks Ensue, drew a comic in 2012 (credit for digging it up goes to journalist Alex Donaldson, who shared it on Twitter), making fun of the users' negative reaction to the original Surface, and predicting Apple fans would love it when Apple launches something like that.
The amount of detail Watson got right is uncanny. He accurately predicted the year this would happen (2015), and he almost nailed the name -- he called the keyboard/cover combo "Smart Cover Touch;" in reality, it's called the Smart Keyboard. Bravo, sir.
