Ecaudor's Tungurahua volcano erupts in fiery explosions

Tungurahua, one of Ecuador's 84 volcanos, began a fiery multi-day eruption around February 27th. It has spewed ash more than 20,000 feet in the air and has exploded at least 70 times, according to National Geographic.

Tungurahua which means 'throat of fire' is approximately 84 miles from the country's capitol of Quito and is over 16,000 feet high. The volcano has been classified as active since 1999.

Authorities have issued an orange alert, classifying the eruption as mild to moderate.
