Thousands of Facebook users are sharing a tricky numbers puzzle, after solving the tricky head-scratcher for themselves. 

The puzzle, which has been labeled the 'High IQ Intelligence Test', was posted on the Sales-Fiction Facebook page on October 4 along with the message: 'Share if you understand.'

And while the puzzle has been shared more than 133,000 times, thousands of people took to the comments section of the post to debate the merits of the test.

8 + 2 = 16106 is the first equation featured on the puzzle, and as many have pointed out, the trick is all about solving the pattern.

For those who hate number puzzles, the test looks tricky at first, but it only takes basic mathematics to solve. 

Those trying to figure out the pattern only need to multiply, add, and subtract the first two numbers in each equation in that order. 

For example, the first line can be solved by doing 8 x 2 = 16, 8 + 2 = 10, 8 - 2 =6 to get the number 16106.  

The second line, 5 + 4 = 2091, can be solved by doing 5 x 4 = 20, 5 + 4 = 9, and 5 - 4 = 1 to get the number 2091. 

You then repeat the pattern for each line. 

'This has nothing to do with having a high IQ,' Isis Ngame commented. 'The brain is, and always will be, a "pattern seeking device". 

'Once you find the pattern of the first two problems, you'll seek out patterns in the others. Nothing special. It's what the brain naturally does.' 

HOW TO SOLVE THE HIGH IQ INTELLIGENCE TEST 

Multiply, add, and subtract the first two numbers of the equation in that order to get the final number. 

8 + 2 = 16106: 8 x 2 = 16, 8 + 2 = 10, 8 - 2 = 6 to get the number 16106

5 + 4 = 2091: 5 x 4 = 20, 5 + 4 = 9, and 5 - 4 = 1 to get the number 2091

9 + 6 = 54153: 9 x 6 = 54, 9 + 6 = 15, and 9 - 6 = 3 to get the number 54153 

7 + 5 = 35122: 7 x 5 = 35, 7 + 5 = 12, and 7 - 5 = 2 to get the number 35122 

20 + 3 = 602317: 20 x 3 = 60, 20 + 3 = 23, and 20 - 3 = 17 to get the number 602317 

30 + 1 = 303129: 30 x 1 = 30, 30 + 1 = 31, and 30 - 1 = 29 to get the number 303129

18 + 4 = 722214: 18 x 4 = 72, 18 + 4 = 22, and 18 - 4 = 14 to get the number 722214

10 + 5 = 505155: 10 x 5 = 50, 10 + 5 = 15, and 10 - 5 = 5 to get the number 505155

However, there were plenty of people who were unable to figure out the pattern and left stumped by the test.

'I'll probably be the only one to admit that I didn't get it...' Brenden Sterrett wrote. 

There were also of plenty of people who figured out the puzzle but felt that it was deceptive.   

'It's pretty simple when you work it out but how these things are executed is pretty sad,' Abbi Lettice explained. 

'No 8+2 doesn't equal 16106. It's misleading. If you're going to test IQ create a different sum that is actually correct.' 

Meanwhile, Styyle Onee noted: 'I'm pretty sure if a first grader put 16106 as the answer for 8 + 2 they will be wrong every single time. This has nothing to do with high IQ.'
