In a unique initiative by North Western Railways, the Gandhi Nagar railway station in Jaipur will be turned into a station fully operated by women.

The initiative aims to focus on women empowerment in Rajasthan.

The Gandhi Nagar railway station lies on the Jaipur-Delhi rail route. Every day, around 50 trains pass through this station, out of which 25 trains make a halt at this station.

As per the initiative, from the station master to the point person, every railway employee on the station will be a woman.

There are several colleges and coaching centres near the railway station due to which several students and woman use the station for commuting.

With a women-only staff, the railway station will provide a comfort zone for women travelling and will also provide jobs for the women in the area.
