“Boycott Turkey” demonstration by Kurdish women in Stockholm

More people are joining the "Boycott Turkey" campaign abroad.

A group of Kurdish women staged a demonstration to boycott Turkey in Stockholm, Sweden.

Carrying banners which read “Boycott Turkey” on the Drottningsgatan Avenue closed to traffic, women handed out leaflets informing about the invasion, massacres and rights violations committed by the Turkish state.

The demonstration on the busiest avenue of Stockholm attracted great interest as Swedish passersby said that they agree with the women and Turkey must be boycotted.

Speaking to ANF, one of the demonstrators Ayşe Göktepe said the following; “Our demonstration was shown great interest. Many Swedish and foreign people came to us and voiced support with our demand to boycott Turkey. Even a group of Turkish youth asked us why we wanted Turkey boycotted. We told them about the repression and human rights violations, upon which they told us that we were right and that they would not vote for Erdoğan either.”

Göktepe called on all the Kurds living in Sweden to ensure active participation in the “Boycott Turkey” campaign and to organize activities in this regard.
