16 Jan Quand Brian May rejoue le riff de « Bohemian Rhapsody » sur le tournage du film

C’est l’un des moments les plus passionnants du biopic Bohemian Rhapsody : le processus de création du plus grand tube de l’histoire du rock anglais qui prête son nom au film.

On le sait, Brian May a été très impliqué sur le tournage de Bohemian Rhapsody, et pas seulement en tant que producteur et consultant. Le guitariste de Queen s’est également invité devant la caméra… ou presque. Sur son fil Instagram, l’iconique partenaire de scène de Freddie Mercury a posté une vidéo prise par le réalisateur Bryan Singer – le même qui s’était fait virer de la production pour son comportement de diva.

On peut le voir prendre la place de Gwilym Lee, son interprète à l’écran, pour interpréter le riff solo de Bohemian Rhapsody qui intervient juste avant la fameuse « operatic section ». Et force est de reconnaître que Brian May n’a rien perdu de sa superbe et gère ce solo à la guitare comme personne d’autre.

How did I do, folks ? Well, obviously not quite as good as Gwil ! He’s a trained artist ! 😊 We had too much fun ! I’d like to see the rest of what happened, captured by the film cameras which were still rolling … some day. In case you’re wondering why this solo doesn’t sound like the ‘out-take’ solo in the film, I only had the idea to make that happen later, when we were polishing the soundtrack. In any case, we wouldn’t have had the facilities to do that on the day of the shoot. In the film, you hear a variant take on the Bo Rhap solo which just MIGHT have been the one previous to the final one which made it onto the record! Might ! That’s if it hadn’t been a genius first-take keeper. Ha ha ! I honestly don’t remember ! A million thanks to @mrgwilymlee Bri
