On this map we can see what percentage of each country’s population experiences anger during a lot of the day on an average day. Europe is home to some of the least angriest countries in the world. Finland is the least angriest country in not only Europe, but the whole world. Only 5% of Finns experience anger on an average day. Finland is followed closely by Estonia (6%), the Netherlands and Portugal (8%). All of them are in the global top 5, which they share with Mauritius (6%).
Almost all of Europe scores below 25%. North Macedonia is just above that with 26%. But there is one country that experiences far more anger than any other country: Turkey. Almost half of the Turkish population experience anger during a lot of the day on an average day. Turkey ranks second globally, just behind Lebanon (49%).
The data comes from the Gallup Global Emotions Report. This report is based on nationally representative, probability-based samples among the adult population, ages 15 and older. The indexes are calculated from surveys in 122 countries and areas in 2021 and early 2022.
