Communities In Nigeria’s Capital, Abuja Lament As Flood Submerges Houses, Cars; Residents Forced To ‘Swim’ Out Of Homes

SaharaReporters gathered that the rain started at about 10 am and lasted several hours, leaving some parts of the nation’s capital flooded, including Trademore Estate in the Lugbe area of the city.

Residents of Federal Capital Territory, have been hit by severe flood, as many houses were submerged in the early hours of Friday after a downpour.

Some of the residents of the estate were seen swimming out of their various houses while looking for a safety zone.

 

Many houses were also submerged in May after a flood took over the Lokogoma community in Abuja following a downpour in the nation’s capital.

 

Some residents of Efab Estate, one of the estates in the community, woke up to see their homes and some roads ravaged by the floods.
