Kurdish civil rights activist Hero Ghadimi was placed in solitary confinement at the Juvenile Detention Centre in Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province, after being arrested by security forces at her family home in Saqqez, Kurdistan Province, on 12 September.

Ghadimi, known for her advocacy work in children’s and women’s rights, as well as her assistance to individuals with special needs in Saqqez, has been denied access to legal representation, family visits, or any form of communication since her arrest.

This incident comes amid a surge in arrests of Kurdish civilians and activists in various cities, including Marivan, Saqqez, Divandarreh, Baneh, Bukan, and Oshnavieh.

According to data compiled by the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN), at least 46 individuals have been arrested by security forces in the past week alone.
