A Ukrainian barista named Maria continued to serve guests even after Russian missile strikes damaged her Kyiv coffeehouse.

Ukrainian air defenses said they had downed two ballistic missiles fired by Russia at the Ukrainian capital earlier today, but the impact of the missile debris caused damage and wounded several people.

"How could they break us?" Maria said while making coffee beneath a smashed shop window.

"I like coffee myself, and so I believe that people will be willing to have a coffee, too. Why not?

"Literally minutes after the [missile] impact, we poured filtered [coffee] for everyone. We also had espresso that was being prepared during the blast.

"We can distract people a little bit. Life goes on. Everything will be Ukraine. Our victory is ahead."
