On this map we can see the percentage of people aged 15 to 29 that are unemployed. As we can see, the youth unemployment is higher the further south we go.

Spain, Italy and Greece have some of the highest youth unemployment rates in Europe. In Sardinia & Sicily (32.4%) and Central Greece (31.3%) it’s even over 30%.

The lowest youth unemployment rate is in Bavaria in Germany, where only 3.5% of young people are unemployed.

Data for this map comes from Eurostat. The data includes students, but only if they are available for work and actively seeking work. That means that students that don’t have a job and are not looking for one, are not included in these numbers.
