Kurdish political prisoner Sakineh Parvaneh began a hunger strike in Evin Prison on Friday to honor the victims of the 2022 protests in Iran.

The strike is timed with the birthday of Ali Mozafari, a 17-year-old protester who was killed in Qochan city. It underscores Parvaneh's solidarity with the families of those lost in the crackdown on the protest.

The strike coincides with the birthday of Ali Mozafari, a 17-year-old who died during the protests in Qochan city.

According to the HRANA Human Rights website, Parvaneh's hunger strike honors the victims' families and specifically remembers Ali Mozafari on his birthday.

A source close to Parvaneh's family confirmed the news, stating she wrote a letter from prison announcing the protest.

Parvaneh's arrest took place in March 2023 after visiting the grave of Ali Mozafari.

She was initially detained at the IRGC intelligence center in Qochan for twelve days before being transferred to Vakil Abad Prison in Mashhad and then to Evin.

In October 2023, Parvaneh was sentenced to six years in prison by the Mashhad Revolutionary Court for charges of "assembly and collusion against national security" and "propaganda against the Islamic Republic."

The sentence was upheld by the Khorasan Razavi Court of Appeal.
