Hedi Slimane has found his new muse for the latest edition of Saint Laurent Music Project: British singer-songwriter and ’60s style icon Marianne Faithfull.
The 67-year-old follows after musicians Courtney Love, Chuck Berry, Kim Gordon, Marilyn Manson and Christopher Owens, to name a few, who have all fronted for the campaign before. The music project, which began last year, is a work of art focused on featuring celebrated rock stars in iconic and permanent pieces from the Saint Laurent collection, as well as an opportunity to feature the artists’ original soundtracks for the French fashion house’s runway shows.
Faithfull, who was shot by Slimane, is seen posing in the black-and-white portrait with her perfect bangs, not unlike a similar ‘do in a photograph of her attending a Royal Ballet gala performance with Mick Jagger in London in 1967.
