Allman Brothers Band announce final shows

As previously reported, The Allman Brothers Band will retire from touring at the end of 2014. Today, they’ve announced the itinerary for their final performances.

In addition to festival appearances at Mountain Jam, Lockn’ Music Festival, and their own Peach Festival, the band will play six shows at New York’s Beacon Theatre in late October. Four of these shows are makeup dates from earlier in the year, when the band was forced to cut short their Beacon residency due to Gregg Allman’s bronchitis. The final two shows, meanwhile, are set for October 27th and 28th, respectively, and tickets will be available shortly. To date, the Allman Bros. have played the Beacon 232 (!) times since 1989.
